In partnership with Cisco Networking Academy, Derbyshire Libraries are pleased to be able to give you the opportunity to develop your IT knowledge and skills by enrolling on free online courses. 

The self-paced Cisco Networking Academy courses introduce you to a range of different areas and enable you to start on your journey into a career in IT. You can access them from a library computer or from your own device at a time to suit you.

Course summary

The Cybersecurity Essentials course develops foundational understanding of cybersecurity and how it relates to information and network security. The course introduces students to characteristics of cyber crime, security principles, technologies, and procedures to defend networks. 

Through interactive, multimedia content, lab activities, and multi-industry case studies, students build technical and professional skills to pursue careers in cybersecurity. Learn what cybersecurity is and what it means for you personally and professionally.
