In partnership with Cisco Netacad we provide self-paced introductory courses which enable you to take your first steps on your path to becoming an IT professional.

You can join Manchester Libraries and access a world of information and support. Every library has free wi-fi, and members of the library can get an hour’s free computer use every day.

Cybersecurity Essentials

The Cybersecurity Essentials course develops foundational understanding of cybersecurity and how it relates to information and network security. The course introduces students to characteristics of cyber crime, security principles, technologies, and procedures to defend networks. Through interactive, multimedia content, lab activities, and multi-industry case studies, students build technical and professional skills to pursue careers in cybersecurity. Learn what cybersecurity is and what it means for you personally and professionally.
