What is a Cisco.com account?

Cisco.com account (formerly called CCO ID) is the new way to log in to Cisco NetAcad.com.  This was added for additional security and to improve the login experience for Cisco NetAcad.com users.

 

How do I login?
  • Use your NetAcad email and password
  • If you already have a Cisco.com account with the same email you use in NetAcad,
    • Log in using your Cisco.com email and password

 

What is a compliance hold?

Cisco.com checks all users against the export compliance lists maintained by the US government.  Sometimes an account will be kept on compliance hold to ensure all users meet export compliance guidelines.

 

I’m unable to log in. Help!

If you cannot login using your NetAcad or Cisco.com email/password, try the following:

  • Clear your cache and history, close and relaunch your browser
  • Clear any old bookmarks you may have and use https://www.netacad.com to log in
  • Use email instead of the screen-name
  • Check your email to see if you received a compliance hold email. The hold may get cleared in a couple of hours. If not, follow the instructions in the email.
  • If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” link
  • If login issues persist –
    • If you are unable to access your email account to complete email verification
      • Please contact your instructor or NetAcad support desk to change your email
    • Due to Cisco.com account restrictions, we have updated a few login credentials. If you are still unable to login, try adding +netacad to your email address on the sign in page
    • If you have not logged into NetAcad.com in the last three years, please contact an instructor to enroll you with the previously used account email.
  • If you’re still unable to login, contact NetAcad support

 

I received a compliance hold email. What should I do?

Cisco checks all users against the export compliance lists maintained by the US government. If your account is placed on compliance hold, you’ll be notified by email. Generally, these holds are usually lifted within 2-3 hours. If it persists, please contact NetAcad support.

 

I have a Cisco.com account. Can I use it to log in to NetAcad.com?
  • Individuals who previously had a Cisco.com account and a NetAcad.com account with matching emails must use their Cisco.com credentials to log in. 
  • Individuals who had both accounts, but the email addresses were different must use their NetAcad.com credentials.

 

I can’t verify my email since I don’t have access to my email account.

Individuals are required to verify their email address for security purposes.  If you are unable to access your email account, please follow these steps:

  • Contact your instructor or NetAcad support to change your email
  • Once your email address has been changed, you will receive an invite email
  • Follow the link to create a new Cisco.com account and access your existing NetAcad.com account

 

How can I change my password?

You can reset your password by following the steps below:

  1. Go to NetAcad.com.
  2. Select “Forgot Password” in the Login drop-down menu
  3. Enter your email address and click “Continue”
  4. You will see a message to verify your identity. Select “Via Email”

A new page will appear stating a code has been sent to your email.  Input the code.  You will now be able to update your password.  Once you reset your password you will see a link to “Login”.  Enter your new password to gain access to the site.

 

I am unable to find my activation email. How can I get a copy?

In order to get started on NetAcad.com you will need your activation email.  To have your email resent to you, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to NetAcad.com
  2. In the top right corner, select Login
  3. Select “Resend Activation Email”
  4. Enter email address and select “Resend Activation Email”

 

I’m trying to verify my email, but I am not receiving a code.  Is there anything I can do?
  1. Please check your spam/junk folders for an email from noreply@cisco.com
  2. Select the ‘Resend Code’ link provided in the email verification page
  3. If you’ve lost access to your email, contact NetAcad support

 

I tried using the Forgot Password process, but I am not getting an email.

Please check your spam folders for an email from noreply@cisco.com.  If you are still unable to receive an email, please contact support.

 

Do I have to accept Cisco.com Terms and Conditions?

Yes. This is separate Terms and Conditions document from Netacad.com and will need to be accepted in order to log in.

 

Do I have to verify my email on Cisco.com?

Yes. All individuals are required to verify their email address for better security and support before gaining access.

 

Why is my Cisco.com screen-name/username different from my previous NetAcad.com screen-name?

Users were automatically assigned a username/screen-name (if another user/different email address already had used it).  Login using your email address and your NetAcad password.

 

How to change my screen-name/username? 

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to change the username/screen-name.

 

I only know my screen-name. How do I find my email address to login?

Please contact your instructor or NetAcad support to find or change your email.

I don’t see my company in the list. How can I complete registration?

If you don’t see your company name in the dropdown list on the account registration page, please contact NetAcad support and allow 2 days to resolve.

 

What is the difference between Single Sign-On (SSO) with Cisco.com and Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) with my Academy?

Cisco NetAcad normally uses Single Sign-On (SSO) with Cisco.com. This allows individuals to use one set of login credentials across multiple Cisco applications. Cisco is now working with some academies to allow Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) which will allow students to use the same login credentials from their academy to access Cisco NetAcad.

 

How do I know if I should login with my academy’s Federated Single Sign-On (SSO)?

Individuals using Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) will be taken to their academy’s login page instead of Cisco.com’s login page.

 

I am unable to login using my academy Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) account. How can I get help?

If you are using your academy credentials to login to NetAcad with Federated Single Sign-On (SSO), then only your academy can help with your login issues. The link below will allow you to provide your email to lookup the IT support alias of your academy. Only academies using Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) will display an academy support email alias. Please use this email alias to contact your academy’s IT support alias to get login support.
